The only downside I know is we all know that technology is faster than a blink of an eye, it works 24/7 and most companies out there can’t afford downtime. This means, you may be obligatory to work in shifts. But that’s an exchange to high-salary jobs. You get paid very well and you are likely to drop everything if you are needed.

When I worked as a scopist for ASECAsia, I have handled a lot of US court cases, I was kind of a legal transcript editor that time. It was a hard job because it includes understanding and hearing skills, we use this software to transcribe the wave file and type it out as text, and the training was harder because I had to study the right usage of the punctuations marks: periods, commas, colons, etc. and had to study stenography. Guess what? EU LOF U means I love you. It was a learning experience though.

The usual cases I have encountered was about Driving Under the Influence, probation and custody, I wanted to have rape cases though but I did not have a chance to get one. lol. I was enjoying the job and dream of becoming a san francisco estate lawyer too lol but my team leader did not like me plus the other trainees because we failed the final exam about stenos and punctuation marks. I was unsatisfied with my team leader’s decision because I was doing great during the hands-on.

Anyway, moving on.

I’ve been a slave of court reporters. But so far, I’m enjoying work and enjoying learning new things. I’m sure when my team leader gets to read this, he will be like, “Ang plastik”

Now, I can decipher the term, DUI. I used to perceive it as DUY. lol. I was so dumb that I didn’t know it was meant Driving Under the Influence. Thank you so much, the internets. You are such a big help.

My training is going to end less than a month from now. I’m so scared about the evaluation. But not really. Being a bum again would be fun: DVD marathon, surfing the Internet, enough time with my fiance, goodbye stress and more.
