Working abroad

If you could spend three years in a foreign country working, what occupation would it be? What would lead you to work abroad?

My friend is leaving for South Africa to work there. The first time I learned about this I was like, “WHATTT?” She is leaving her two little children without a mommy? She is not going to see her kids for three years? She will not be able to read fairy tale books to them and so forth.

I believe the thing that leads her to work in a foreign country is be able to feed her children and be able to send them to school.
