I made an innocent mistake

As you all know, if you own an E-ON Cyber Account, it automatically becomes very useful when you apply it with PayPal because you can use it both as your debit card and your bank account. I own one.

At the moment, there are two ways to be able for you to withdraw money from your PayPal funds (PayPal funds is the current money in your PayPal account):

  • 1) Withdraw funds to your bank account
  • 2) Withdraw funds to your card

Last March 05, I made a withdrawal and chose the Withdraw Funds to your Bank Account option but because I was excited, I made a boo-boo.

Look at the image:

nakakalito naman tlga eh. lol.

I’ve been always aware about the difference between the card number and the account number; Card number has 16 digits while the account number has 12 digits. Are we clear on that? lol.

Maybe I wasn’t really paying attention when I added my bank account in PayPal when I tried to withdraw a couple of weeks ago. It says in PayPal withdrawal page that the bank account has 16 digits (look at the image: 1-16 digits) Okay. I got that. From 1 digit to 16 digits maybe. I did not double check my number before I submitted the request. I was also aware if you made a mistake, PayPal will charge you 250.00 Pesos.

Anyway, when my friend Jayne and I had a YM convo last week and she asked me a couple of questions about the card number and the bank account number, something came to me and I remembered my withdrawal, I was like, “Shooooooooooot!” So I made a major research about it and asked my friend Lady and stuff and yeah I should have entered the 12 digit number and not the other way around. lol.

So I called Unionbank to check if my money already reflected in my account, because it was more than 5 days ago, and the CSR suggested it’s my decision if I send an message to PayPal and ask for a refund but she still asked me to wait for a couple of days. After the long wait and the money wasn’t showing in my online account in Unionbank, I decided to send a message to PayPal and requested for a refund and now this morning, when I checked my e-mail, I received an e-mail from PayPal and it says that my bank account info was declined. It was invalid. I know that already! I know the shiznits I have done! lol.

But I’m happy now that my money is not missing anymore and not floating somewhere and shit.

Btw, here’s the Bank codes of Major Banks in the Philippines, in case you don’t know.

I haven’t tried withdrawing through the bank account, is it easier? Anyway, good thing you didn’t lose the money.

@Dre Yes. I’ve read from some users that they got their funds faster than using the card. Like, two banking days lang makukuha na. Thanks for stopping by.

So wait: I don’t need a credit card to tie to my PayPal? Just my regular Chinabank or Metrobank bank accounts?

@Helga I’m not yet sure. Kasi you have to be a verified user muna bago ka makawithdraw and you need the card. Pero I will let you know ‘pag may nabasa akong sagot sa tanong mo.
