I spent my time reading too much of EON Card horror stories and realized that I was just scaring myself. Boo.
Anyway, I’m excited to let my visitors know that I’m officially a verified Pay Pal user since yesterday. Thank you, EON Card. I was too excited that I asked my friend Sarah to try my account out by sending me some monies. She run a contest last year, which I won but because I live in this third world country and did not have Pay Pal, I can’t ask her to send my prize yet. So I told her about my exciting story and asked again if she’s still going to send my prize. I read her reply and she said she already sent out the money. I checked my balance and it’s there already. harhar.
For those Filipinos who still don’t have their pay pal account verified yet, this entry is for you. This is my version of the step-by-step procedure, all right?
- Get Unionbank’s EON Card Cyber Account. Get this debit card either by signing up online through their official website or go to the nearest branch.
- After five working days, you have to call the branch where you applied in. It’s very important to call them because I did not. lol. You will end up waiting and waiting. I was dumb that I thought they’re going to call me. Yeah, call them and ask them if your EON card is ready to pick up.
- When you are ready to pick up your EON card, go to the branch, go to their New Accounts or ask the security guard where you could claim your EON card. Present your two valid IDs and Php350.00 for the card’s annual fee. Also, it’s very important again to deposit at least Php150.00 in your EON card, especially if you are going to apply for Pay Pal.
- Wait for three days for your EON card to be activated. You may call the branch or call their hotline to confirm.
- If your EON card is activated already, go to Unionbank website and enroll for a eon cyber account. Be ready with your card and account number and pin. Also, think of your user ID, this user ID will be your new username next time you log in to access your accounts online. Wait for three to five days to be activated. Again, call their hotline to confirm.
- When everything is activated, you may enroll in Pay Pal. They are going to charge you 1.95 USD and wait three to five working days to get your Expanded Use Number from Unionbank. In my case, I sent a message to EON Services (you may send messages through your account online) and asking for my Expanded Use Number. I just waited for a couple of days only, I checked my account online through Unionbank’s website and saw a response.
- Copy and paste the 4-digit Expanded Use Number in your Pay Pal account and you are done. Verified!
Important: Deposit at least Php150.00 in your EON card and your EON card should be activated. If you failed to do this, your EON card will be denied by Pay Pal.
Okay. Do you love me now? ![]()

hi sis, This is very useful. I have a question, however. See, i activated my paypal (verified and upgraded to premium account) using my credit card. But I don’t know how I can transfer the money from paypal to an EON card, if I didn’t use EON to be verified.

Thanks for the dollar! I just transferred funds to my EON for the first time. Loves it!
January 19th, 2008 at 12:46 am
Nice info! Very helpful, a question though. Do you need to have a bank account with Union bank to apply for this?

Thanks for the tips, Laarni. I’ve applied Eon card a long time ago. I wonder if I can still get it. I’ll definitely try this for my local Paypal. I have no problem with my other US based paypal business account though but I want to have a personal paypal for Philippines us.
btw, I added your site to my links page.

@evilwoobie I’m not really sure. Nung ni-add mo ba yung EON card mo sa PayPal, hindi humingi ng expanded use number?
@Dre you are welcome. Question: How many days did it take you for your paypal balance to be transferred in your EON? I haven’t done that kasi.
@Master Diwa Not really. You are applying for EON card meaning it’s a new account.
@Beng YEY!
@Noemi I think makukuha mo pa ‘yon. Sino ba namang tatanggi sa 350 pesos? hehehe. Good luck.
January 19th, 2008 at 3:34 pm
Oh ok. Thanks Laarni, and thanks for dropping by my blog.
January 19th, 2008 at 7:51 pm
Thanks for this, Anne. I will be going to Unionbank to get my card. Thanks for the heads up. I admit, I am so ignorant about these things.

kailangan pa pala iactivate online yung card! that’s probably why paypal keeps rejecting my card. hahaha. thanks for the info ha
January 21st, 2008 at 8:04 pm
@ris FYI, you will not be able to use your E-ON card if it’s already denied by PayPal. You have to get a new E-ON card. Yeah, sux.

Hi! Finally, I found this message. I did not get the whole link from your comment on my blog. I wish you have Monthly Archive here.
Anyway, just a couple of questions about this EON account, hope you find time to answer:
1.0 I obviously need to open an account to Unionbank for a min. of how much? P10k?
2.0 After I can successfully open an EON account, can I use it for sites like Payp3rp0st?
I would be glad if you continue educating me about Paypal Phils. I visited their site and I feel quite confused about this withdrawing thing. I hope you could post your reply her. I notified myself through email.
Thanks a lot!

@Guardian Angel Thanks for passing by.
Answer #1.0 10k? nope! 350 pesos lang (babayaran mo lang ung annual fee ng EON debit card). Apply ka muna online or pumunta ka sa malapit na branch diyan sa inyo. I applied online nga pala.
Answer #2.0 EON account? You can’t. Paypal lang ang kelangan dun kung gusto mong sumali sa mga paid programs like Payp3rp0st. :P
You may use EON card para ma-link mo ang paypal account mo. Pag may pera na ang Paypal mo, pwede mong i-withdraw using EON card.
I removed my archives on purpose. kasi SEO strategy. basta! hehehe. Take care.

Hi!
I do really want to thank you for posting this blog.
The guides you written here are also in Unionbank website but unfortunate I misunderstand their guides and I did understand yours.
